General Dentistry
We recommend that you visit us every 6 to 12 months for routine dental examinations and cleaning, or as advised by our dentists.

Modern dentistry focuses firmly on prevention to avoid the need for more extensive and costly treatments. We aim to see you regularly so that we can keep a close eye on your oral health and spot and problems before they escalate. We perform very thorough examinations and check-ups with photographs and radiographs (x-rays) which allow us to detect any areas of concern and we will discuss these with you. We look for signs of infection, tooth decay, gum disease and even screen you for oral cancer. We focus on educating you how to look after your teeth effectively at home. If further treatment is required, we'll create a bespoke treatment plan to suit your needs. Both adults and children require routine dental appointments on a regular basis because preventive dentistry is the key to keeping your mouth healthy.

If we do detect any issues, these can be addressed with our range of treatments to repair and restore your teeth:
Fillings
We can organise fillings for the fractured or carious (decayed) teeth using composite resin (tooth coloured) giving a natural looking result
Crowns
The more heavily filled teeth or back teeth that have been root canal treated will require some sort of cuspal coverage restoration (crowns, onlays/inlays) after the foundation filling has been replaced. Crowns cover the teeth and provide strength and support to heavily filled teeth. Crowns can be made of ceramic, zirconia, combination of metal and ceramic, gold, and non-precious metal.
Bridges
These can fill the gaps left by missing teeth. They consist of a false tooth/teeth positioned between two crowns that slot over the teeth either side of the gap. Similarly to crowns, bridges can be made of ceramic, zirconia or combination of metal and ceramic.
Dentures
Here at Theocharides dental we believe it is essential that your dentures allow you to talk, laugh and eat in complete confidence. A well made, properly fitted denture, whether a partial or a full denture, can bring you renewed freedom from soreness or discomfort, together with the benefits of a natural looking smile. Our modern dentures offer a better fit and improved performance and comfort. To achieve the very best results for our patients we work very closely with our dental laboratory.
Root Canal Treatment
Root canal treatment is the cleaning , disinfecting and filling of the roots of a tooth. Such treatment is necessary when the pulp, the soft tissue inside the root canal, becomes inflamed or infected. The inflammation/infection may be as a results of deep caries (decay), or a crack, or injury to the tooth. If pulp inflammation is left untreated, it can cause pain or lead to an abscess which can be very painful. If root canal treatment is not carried out, the tooth may need to be taken out.
