Soft tissue regeneration! Our lovely young patient attended with localized gingival recession around her lower front tooth. We initially carried out a free gingival graft to correct the defect. This however was not enough as the gingivae (gums) around the defect were very thin. A further corrective second surgery was carried out and connective tissue from the palate (roof of the mouth) was added using the tunnelling technique. Full coverage with thickening of the gingivae was achieved.
